This job can be described as: Provides product and service support for a local customer base in a defined territory in the areas of field service, seal installation, laser alignment, pump assembly, trouble shooting and customer support including customer training. Work is done primarily in the field. Position requires extensive travel within the local territory. May train or assist other employees as required. Job Model:  Hybrid All fully remote positions will require you to travel on site 2-4 times per month depending upon business needs at your own expense.   Hybrid positions will require employees to work both on-site and remote each week under a schedule that has been determined and agreed upon by you and your manager.   On-Site positions will require employees to work on-site for each of their scheduled shifts.   A typical day at work would include: - FIELD SERVICE - - Mechanical Seal installation - - Field service valve work - - Field service pump repair and installation - - New pump assembly and installation - - Laser alignment and vibration analysis - - Machining of seals and pumps - - Field service ARC applications - - Customer Equipment Surveys - - May, at times, support Chesterton Corporate programs, such as Fixed Fee contracts, PROP reliability programs, etc. - SEAL REPAIR & ASSEMBLY ( In select Areas) - Responsible for seal repair including: - - Receiving used seals - - Creating RGR, disassembly, sandblasting, cleaning, and inspecting to Chesterton standards - - Relap appropriate faces if able - - Responsible for seal repair inventory and expense item inventory - - Rework seal components and stage for first QC - - Assemble, test, package and stage for second QC - - Reporting of all seal repair service orders, with error management report - - Proper maintenance of seal repair equipment - - Work directly with customer service department with inventory ordering, administrative planning, and invoicing of seal repair - - Assembly of any kited items, pumps, seals, packing sets and custom orders - - Provide seal repair and product training to other seal repair personnel - - Communicate regularly with Manager on progress and concerns in the seal repair area - CUSTOMER ON SITE SUPPORT: - - Supports customer requirements for system maintenance and operation. - - Picks-up parts and repairs or modifies in retail shop. - - Conducts on site training and or installation of products. - - Serves as technician in troubleshooting customer seal and pump operation. - - Supports Direct Sales personnel in customer accounts on manual work requirements. - - Provides ancillary services. - - Provides vibration analysis, laser alignment services. - - Works on system design recommendations.   Experience you need coming into this job: - Trade School and/or Technical Associates Degree - 5 years experience within any combination of the following areas: - Technical industrial experience - Mechanical Seal/Pump assembly and/or product knowledge - Mechanical ability and light machining experience - Industrial process experience - Interface with customer service staff, direct sales force, distributors and end users. - Must possess a high degree of organizational skill and attention to detail. - Required to concentrate on quality control standards for mechanical seals and pumps. - Required to perform specialized technical operations in repair and light machining of mechanical seals and pumps components as well as assembly and disassembly. - Required to train and oversee other product technician personnel. - Must possess extensive communication skills. - Mechanical aptitude essential. - Organization skills and attention to detail - Communication and customer service skills - Basic math and measuring ability, calibration ability - Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve - Ability to work in a fast paced environment - Ability to lift light to moderate weights - Ability to operate a forklift, hoist, hand truck, and basic industrial machines and tools - Telephone skills, computer processing, printing and filing - Able to write and administrate documents - Ability to work predominantly in the field - Valid driver’s license required   Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
